Black Falls 9.09
Black Falls is located on the grounds of Camp Merrill, the US Army Ranger School Mountain Phase Training facility. Although you're technically supposed to gain authorization from the Camp to enter the property, I did not. The trail is actually located just short of the Camp's main gate and is a quick 1 mile walk to the falls. I first saw these falls in 2009, again before I started my cascading adventures; however, it still makes the list and is worth seeing. There's a decent swimming hole at the base of the falls.
There are several falls through this area and I recommend you plan a route to see as many as you can in one day. I'll post a list of those falls here when I have a bit of time to plot them on a map. I plan to visit this location again when I go to see the other nearby falls as I want to snap a few more pictures.
